Filling Your Chalice: Healing Deficiency for Fertility & Womb Wellness
If you’re trying to conceive and experiencing menstrual symptoms like fatigue, spotting, delayed cycles, or scanty bleeding—your body may be calling for more nourishment. From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, this often points to blood deficiency and yin deficiency, two root imbalances that can make it difficult for conception to occur.
In order for life to be planted and rooted in the womb, the environment must be full of blood, resources, and nutrient rich for life to grow.
Why Blood & Yin Are Essential for Conception
In TCM, Blood is more than a fluid. It is the sacred substance that carries Spirit (Shen), emotion, and essence (Jing). It nourishes the uterus, supports the Heart-Kidney connection, and provides the "holding" power to sustain pregnancy.
Yin, on the other hand, is the cooling, receptive, and fluid energy that governs our ability to rest, regulate hormones, and create a fertile inner landscape. Without enough Yin, the body overheats, ovulation may be erratic, and the uterine lining may lack the juiciness needed for implantation.
When Blood and Yin are deficient, signs may include:
Scanty or late periods
Pale complexion or dizziness
Vaginal dryness
Hot flashes or night sweats
Anxiety, restlessness, or insomnia
Poor cervical mucus
They are messages that your womb asking for deeper nourishment and attunement.
3 Ways to Nourish Yin & Blood for Fertility
Align with the Follicular Phase to Build Blood —
The follicular phase (from menstruation to ovulation) is the most important time to build Blood and Yin in preparation for ovulation. This is the time to eat well, rest deeply, and focus on receiving—not doing.
Foods to Support Blood & Yin:
Dark leafy greens (nettle, spinach, moringa)
Beets, black sesame, goji berries, dates
Bone broth, liver, and eggs
Cooked red beans, adzuki beans, black beans
Soups and stews made with blood-building herbs like Dang Gui, He Shou Wu, and Long Yan Rou
Eat slowly. Eat warmly. Eat intuitively. This is not the time for extreme dieting, cold smoothies, or fasting. Your womb wants warmth, grounding, and circulation.
Use Hypnosis & Spirit Baby Communication
Sometimes the path to conception asks us to go inward—to the subconscious and soul level.
Hypnotherapy for fertility helps:
Calm the nervous system to make the body feel safe to receive
Rewire limiting beliefs around worthiness, timing, and fear
Connect with your healthiest self—the version of you who is already a mother
And then there’s the magic of spirit baby communication.
This isn’t just spiritual woo. Many ancient traditions, including Taoist and Buddhist practices, acknowledge that babies choose their parents long before conception. Through meditation, hypnosis, or dreamwork, you can connect with the soul of your baby, receive messages, and clear emotional or energetic blocks that may be standing in the way.
Your womb is a temple. Your body is not a machine. Fertility is a relationship, not a task.
Yin Lifestyle Therapy: Rest, Rhythm, and Receptivity
The Yin essence in your body is depleted by stress, overwork, and overstimulation. One of the most radical things you can do for your fertility is to slow down and honor your cyclical nature.
Support Yin and Blood with lifestyle therapy:
Go to bed by 10 PM to allow the Liver and Kidneys to restore Yin
Track your womb cycle and plan rest days during your menstrual and luteal phases
Replace high intensity workouts with gentle movement: Qi Gong, walks in nature, restorative yoga
Prioritize joy, beauty, and creative rituals—these nourish the Heart and open the womb energetically
When you nourish your Blood and Yin, connect with your spirit baby, and choose to live in tune with your body’s needs—you create not just fertility, but abundance in every area of your life.
